Nathaniel Meyer
Artistic and Executive Director
Conductor Nathaniel Meyer brings visionary leadership and electrifying artistry to the New Opera Company of Boston. Praised as “a new, dynamic Leonard Bernstein,” Meyer is known for his powerful interpretations of rarely heard masterworks and his passionate advocacy for rediscovered composers. He has conducted across Europe and the Americas, with recent appearances including the Hungarian National Symphony and the Prague Philharmonia. As Music Director of the Du Bois Orchestra, he championed premieres of long-lost works by Black American composers. A Yale graduate and LaGuardia Conducting Competition winner, Meyer combines deep musical scholarship with a bold, theatrical sensibility that defines the company’s artistic voice.

Stephanie Pfundt
Director of Development
Stephanie Pfundt, Executive Director of the New Opera Company of Boston, is a dynamic leader, acclaimed soprano, and fearless advocate for artist-led innovation. A prizewinner in the Seattle Opera Guild Competition and the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, she brings a wealth of performance experience to her executive role. With a background in arts administration, new work creation, and educational programming, she bridges bold artistic vision with strong organizational strategy. Raised in coastal Alaska and trained in Boston, Pfundt is committed to building a vibrant operatic community—one that nurtures emerging talent, uplifts underrepresented voices, and brings opera into the 21st century.
